For the fourth installment of our Summer Margarita Vibes Series, we are taking a trip to the Italian coast by way of Mexico. We’re leaning hard into ultra-bright, tongue-tingling citrus with a drink that is the definition of a palate cleanser: The Lemon Sorbet Margarita.

We started this series with a rich strawberry gelato dream, but today is all about high-contrast refreshment. We are shaking up a bone-dry, tart, classic lime margarita and topping it with a scoop of icy lemon sorbet and freshly grated lime zest.

As you sip, the sorbet slowly melts, transforming a crisp, punchy cocktail into a slushy, sweet-and-tart masterpiece. It is bright, elegant, and the ultimate way to cool down when the afternoon heat hits its peak.

The Recipe: Lemon Sorbet Margarita

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

For the Crisp Base:

  • 2 oz Blanco Tequila
  • 1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ¾ oz Cointreau or Orange Curaçao
  • ¼ oz Agave nectar (keep it light, the sorbet will add sweetness!)
  • Ice for shaking

The Topping & Garnish:

  • 1 perfect scoop of premium Lemon Sorbet
  • *Fresh lime zest (grated right over the top)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Shake the Base: Add the blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, Cointreau, and agave nectar to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
  2. Strain: Double-strain the liquid into a chilled coupe or margarita glass, leaving plenty of room for your scoop.
  3. Float the Sorbet: Using a warm ice cream scoop, gently place one beautiful ball of lemon sorbet right into the center of the margarita.
  4. Zest and Serve: Grab a microplane and grate fresh lime zest directly over the sorbet. The burst of citrus oils from the fresh zest hits your nose before the very first sip.

Vibe Tip: Use a microplane to get that lime zest incredibly fine it looks like beautiful green confetti sitting on top of the white sorbet. Serve this one with a small spoon so your guests can dive into that bright lemon crunch right away.
