The Rise of Cantaloupe Cocktails
In recent years, there’s been a surge in popularity for fruit-infused cocktails, with mixologists around the globe experimenting with everything from exotic dragon fruit to classic strawberries. However, it’s the humble cantaloupe that’s currently stealing the show. Its sweet, mellow flavor and vibrant color make it a perfect candidate for a refreshing summer cocktail.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Herradura Tequila
- 1 cup fresh cantaloupe juice
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
- Ice
- Salt for rimming the glass
- Cantaloupe slices and lime wedges for garnish
Method
- Begin by preparing your cantaloupe juice. Cut a ripe cantaloupe into chunks and blend until smooth. Strain the juice to remove any pulp.
- Rim your glass with salt. You can do this by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge of the glass and then dipping it in salt.
- In a shaker, combine Herradura Tequila, freshly squeezed cantaloupe juice, lime juice, and triple sec. Add a handful of ice and shake well.
- Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a slice of cantaloupe and a wedge of lime.
