La Paloma was first started by Joe and Hortensia Parker in San Bernardino, California in the 1950’s
Many of the recipes we use today were originally from Hortensia’s mother, Maria, who had the very first La Paloma in Flagstaff, Arizona. When Maria left Arizona to come to California to be closer to her family, she started a small tortilleria (tortilla shop). Joe and Hortensia bought the tortilla shop when she retired. Along with the tortilleria, Joe and Hortensia had many restaurants in San Bernardino before coming to La Verne in 1966 and starting up this location.
The legacy that was founded by two hard-working and dedicated owners has remained alive today through their six children and many grandchildren who have worked here throughout the years. La Paloma continues to serve the community with great pride with our delicious meals, using the freshest ingredients, and our last and friendly service. The sense of family that we have expands to our employees and customers as we continue on through the years.
