If you’re looking for the perfect margarita that glows with St. Patrick’s Day vibes, this Midori Green Margarita is the perfect choice. Sweet melon liqueur blends beautifully with tequila and fresh lime juice to create a bright, refreshing margarita with a stunning emerald color.

For extra fun, rim the glass with green sugar crystals or green apple Pop Rocks for a playful twist that adds sparkle, texture, and a little surprise with every sip.

This cocktail is perfect for pairing with tacos on Taco Tuesday or serving at a St. Patrick’s Day gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz Cointreau
  • ½ oz agave syrup (optional, depending on sweetness preference)
  • Ice

For the rim

  • Lime wedge
  • Green sanding sugar or green apple Pop Rocks
  • Garnish
  • Lime wheel
  • Mint sprig or clover(optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the rim
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass. Dip the rim into green sugar crystals or green apple Pop Rocks to coat.
  • Shake the margarita
In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Midori, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave syrup with ice.
  • Shake well
Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until chilled.
  • Serve
Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice and strain the margarita into the glass.
  • Garnish
Add a lime wheel or a small mint sprig for a bright, festive finish.

Pro Tip
If using Pop Rocks, serve immediately after pouring the drink. The carbonation creates a fun crackling effect when the cocktail touches the rim – making this margarita a true conversation starter.
