Taco Tuesday People: We’re a Vibe

There are Monday people. We don’t really understand them.
There are Friday people, which feels a little obvious.
And then there are Tuesday People, Taco Tuesday People.
You start thinking about tacos sometime around noon. Maybe earlier. You have opinions about tortillas. You know which friend is ordering the margarita. You have a salsa preference that has become unnecessarily personal.
You understand that Tuesday is not simply the second day of the workweek.
Tuesday has plans. Every week, millions of people across the country do something wonderfully simple at roughly the same time:
We eat tacos. At restaurants. At neighborhood taco shops. At home, around the kitchen table. Standing over a plate while insisting we’re “just having one more.”
Different cities. Different families. Different backgrounds. Same Tuesday.
And somewhere along the way, Taco Tuesday became more than a dinner special. It became a ritual.
Something to look forward to.
A reason to text your friends.
A reason to try the restaurant you’ve been meaning to visit.
A reason to sit down together.
A tiny weekly holiday that somehow keeps showing up every seven days.
Honestly, very considerate of Tuesday.

So, What Exactly Is a Tuesday Person?
There is no application.
No membership fee.
No complicated initiation ceremony involving hot sauce.
If Taco Tuesday makes your week a little better, congratulations. You’re one of us.
Taco Tuesday People are the ones who suggest tacos before anyone else can.
Taco Tuesday People know that two tacos is often a starting point.
Taco Tuesday understand the importance of ordering something for the table.
Taco Tuesday People have absolutely driven farther than necessary for a taco.
Taco Tuesday People have strong feelings about salsa.
Taco Tuesday People know.

But This Is About More Than Tacos
Food has always had an extraordinary ability to bring people together.
It doesn’t care what kind of week you’ve had.
It doesn’t ask where you came from.
It just asks someone to pass the salsa.
And maybe that’s part of why Taco Tuesday has become such an enduring part of American culture.
Mexican food has given us some of the meals we crave most, restaurants we return to again and again, family traditions, late-night memories, first dates, celebrations and a weekly ritual embraced across the country.
That deserves more than our appetite.
It deserves our appreciation.

The Taco Tuesday Table Has Room
This is the part we really love.
The Taco Tuesday community is enormous, but it has never had a clubhouse.
So we’re building one.
Not literally. Commercial real estate is expensive.
But TacoTuesday.com is becoming the place where Tuesday People find each other.
We want to know where you eat.
What you order.
Which taco changed your life.
Which restaurant in your town deserves more attention.
Whether cilantro belongs on everything.
What your family does every Tuesday.
Which city has the best tacos.
What you’re drinking.
What you’re arguing about.
And, most importantly, who you’re sharing the table with.
Because the best part of Taco Tuesday has never really been Tuesday.
It’s the people.

This Is Just the Beginning
You’ll start seeing more of Tuesday People around here.
Taco Tuesday People stories.
Taco Tuesday People traditions.
Taco Tuesday roll calls.
City rivalries.
Taco personalities.
Bucket lists.
Restaurant discoveries.
Very serious investigations into extremely unserious taco questions.
And plenty of opinions nobody asked for.
We’ll celebrate the restaurants, cooks, families, friends and taco lovers who make Tuesday what it is.
Because millions of people already celebrate Taco Tuesday.
We don’t need to create the community.
We just need to help everyone realize they belong to one.
So welcome.
Pull up a chair.
Pass the salsa.
You’re officially among Taco Tuesday People.
And Taco Tuesday People are a vibe.
